Ciao Guys! In this ‘Creative Writing’ series, I’ll share my personal notes and journey with you.

Let’s start!

First steps to writing….:

  1. Explore Your Writing Routine!

First of all, you have to write every day. Every day you’ll sit in front of that computer and write. Try and find out your routine, whether you write early in the morning, at night or at noon… An important step as a writer is creating your personal Author ID

How Does Selin Erdem Write?

Finding your own language is also an important aspect of identity.

2. Think About Autonomous Moment in Your Life / Milestone
What was the turning point where you felt you had your life in your hands? (Of course if it is..)

3. Get Along With Your Characters
The main character’s name, (Who put it? Why? What does it mean? Does he like his name?….)
Where / How was s/he born? How was the birth?..
Who are Family Members?… their background etc.

Create and explore in great detail. Get to know their characters, discover the meanings of their names…

4. Write your birth moment from others view!

Choose one of your family member (who was there in your birth moment) and write from their point of view! Describe the day, the moment from his/her mouth.

On comments, write & share;

  • your routine as a writer,
  • your autonomous moment,
  • How do you develop characters?

Good luck you all! See you next week.
